Children with developmental problems often have medical difficulties. What is the connection between the developmental issues and those medical conditions?
What Kinds Of Medical Problems?
- Digestive: Leaky Gut Syndrome, Food Sensitivities
- Respiratory, Ear, Nose, & Throat: Asthma, Infections, Sinusitis, congestion and inflammation in the ear
- Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia, & Dystonia: Difficulties in coordination and inability to maintain muscle tone
- Sensory Difficulties: Sensory Integration Disorder, Auditory Processing Disorder, Balance Disorders
- Seizures and Convulsions: Fever or Febrile Convulsions
These conditions are common for children with developmental disorders. How can we understand the relationship these conditions have with developmental problems? What is the common thread which runs through them all?
These are all physical manifestations of something wrong with the developmental process. The developmental process has not completely run its course and the child’s natural immune responses are not able to kick-in and start protecting the child.
What Is The Reason Children Have Developmental Problems?
Children have developmental problems because the normal developmental process is blocked or stuck.
The problem for children in our modern culture is that health care professionals are taught to treat the symptoms of the child’s disorder. If a child has convulsions, the doctor knows how to prescribe medications for that. If the child has asthma, the doctor knows how to prescribe medications for that. If the child has sinusitis, the doctor knows how to prescribe medications for that. If the child cannot focus, the doctor knows how to prescribe medications for that.
But, if these problems are based on an incomplete or inadequate development of the child, these problems are going to continue to surface. As long as treatments only address the symptoms, the conditions will continue. The only way to solve these types of problems is to get the developmental process back on track.
What is the connection between developmental problems and those medical conditions?
The basis of children’s ADHD, dyslexia, autism, or any other Developmental Disorder is that the child’s developmental process is stuck or blocked.
The basis for these chronic illnesses in children is that the child’s developmental process is stuck or blocked.
They both have the same basis. What if all these chronic illnesses are just more symptoms that the child’s developmental process is stuck or blocked.
How do we solve these developmental problems?
We have to re-engage the developmental process and encourage it to catch up. When we do this, the symptoms of developmental disorders disappear and the chronic illnesses disappear.
